Violoncellos
So far only one instrument has come to our knowledge, that is beyound all doubt from Tielke's workshop. It is dated 1693 and has appeared more than twenty years ago in Copenhagen. It is now in private possession in Hamburg. Only the body has been preserved. It is of special interesest because the insides of table and back show marks from the bending process.
Another instrument with a Tielke label is in Dutch private ownership; we did not have the chance of eximing it. However, its label clearly is a fake.
A third instrument (vide on the page "Still wanted" as no. 14) is known to us only through its photo as published in the auction catalogue. Its back shows the ornamentation as found on a number of viols by Joachim Tielke and also by Jakob Heinrich Goldt.
